What is vanitas art?

This piece have a very bold colours in it ,especially the colour red is amazing.I also like how the background is painted in black and how it looks really bold in it , I love how the skull is placed in an amazing foreshadowing angle and like the brightness on the top and the tiny bit of gloominess just spread on the front face.
This piece shows a symbol of Vanitas by putting the image of the skull in the picture. The skull itself represent ‘death’ which makes painting look even more drastic and dark.
The painting send me message about a rich lady, having this expensive coat on her and everything in her life is just covered in darkness and nothing matters to her now because she is dead.
I might try to get inspiration from this like the black background and like trying different colours which could go along the deep tones e.g red coat.

This piece of art is spectacularly and creatively painted. I love how the eyes are placed in the core of the flower and how the colours blend them in like its camouflaging in the flower core. The flowers are beautifully painted with the light pastel colour and with the black background. I love the way the skull is being placed in the middle with these brightly faded flowers around it.
This piece shows a symbol of Vanitas art by placing the skull in the middle, slowly peeking out from the flower. By the skull in the middle with the flowers semi-hiding and the dark black background shows some life and death in it.
The painting send me the message of a person or maybe a lady is being protected by her loved ones from the world. Maybe she is just someone who shouldn't even be in this world. The idea I might extract from this painting is the black background and the flowers.

MAGDIEL LOPEZ This piece has enticed me with its dynamic, striking, eye-catching colours. I love the way they use different shades of blue,pink and purple on the skull and the skull is just amazingly beautiful with those rainbow-changing colour background.
This piece shows a symbol of Vanitas art the by putting the skull in the image. Showing that even after death life can be bright too. The painting send me the message that this art is the modern type of Vanitas in this 21st Century. Like its shows the different types of Vanitas art in different eras.
I might extract some colours from this art and the image of the skull too.
